The Indoor Football League officially reached its midway point in Week 9, setting the stage for a high-stakes second half as the calendar turns toward Week 10.
While established powerhouses flexed their muscles with high-scoring performances, several matchups came down to the final possession, further tightening the standings as franchises prepare for the second half push.
Quad City Steamwheelers (2-6) at Green Bay Blizzard (7-1)

The Green Bay Blizzard continued their dominant run through the IFL season with a high-octane 65-40 victory over the Quad City Steamwheelers at the Resch Center on Friday night.
Quarterback Liam Thompson was the engine of the offense, throwing for 207 yards and five touchdowns. Thompson's primary deep threat was Terrell Carey, averaging 23.8 yards per catch, finishing with 95 yards and two scores. Demilon Brown added versatility to the attack, recording 41 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground while adding a receiving score.
Andrew Mevis was also a factor in the scoring, recording a deuce on the opening kickoff and finishing 9-of-9 on extra points.

In a back-and-forth thriller at the Kia Center on Saturday, the Orlando Pirates narrowly escaped with a 60-57 win over Fishers Freight. The Freight have now dropped two straight to start the month of May after a four game winning streak.
Paxton DeLaurent was nearly perfect through the air, completing 28-of-31 passes for 308 yards and five touchdowns. Wide receiver Nyqwan Murray was unstoppable, hauling in nine catches for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Teo Redding had 65 receiving yards on eight receptions and a spectacular over the wall catch for the game winning touchdown with seconds left in regulation.
Pooka Williams provided the balance on the ground, punching in three rushing scores.
Orlando's defense was sparked by Corrion Ballard with eight tackles and DJ Daniel with five solo stops. Destin Mack recorded four tackles, while Dexter Lawson added six total tackles to keep the Freight's passing attack limited to 93 yards.
On the other side of the ball, the Freight defense was led by Jaiden Roe, who recorded a game-high nine total tackles and an interception. Donnie Lewis and Marcus Gray each followed with seven tackles, while Cornelius Montgomery added five stops for a unit that forced one interception but could not find a way to stop the Pirates' air attack in the final moments.

The Arizona Rattlers left no doubt in the desert rivalry on Sunday night, dismantling the Tucson Sugar Skulls 66-14.
Drew Powell was the star of the night. In the place of Max Meylor, Powell accounted for 171 passing yards and two touchdowns while dominating the ground game with 82 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
Arland Bruce was the recipient of both passing scores, finishing with 85 receiving yards. Matthew Cook had a historic night for a kicker, recording four deuces and going 8-of-8 on extra points to fuel the blowout.
The Rattlers' defense was opportunistic, as Yahsyn McKee Sr. grabbed two interceptions and seven tackles. Carlvainsky Decius added an interception and a game-high seven solo tackles, while Hayden Hatcher chipped in four stops.
Defensively, the Sugar Skulls were led by Bri'On Murray, Zachariah Twardosky, and Djimon Brooks who each recorded five total tackles. Aaron Jackson added four tackles, but the unit was unable to register a sack or force a turnover against a Rattlers offense that was firing on all cylinders.
