IFL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: WEEK 2
Week 2 saw big-time performances across the league, with players stepping up in key moments.
The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for Week 2 of the 2026 season.
Liam Thompson (Green Bay Blizzard) has been named Offensive Player of the Week, Elijah Reed (San Diego Strike Force) earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, and Jan Bogdan (Quad City Steamwheelers) has been named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Offensive Player of the Week
Liam Thompson, QB — Green Bay Blizzard
Back-to-back honors for Thompson, who has helped lead the Blizzard to a 2-0 start. He accounted for seven total touchdowns in Week 2, throwing for 141 yards and three scores while adding 85 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground, continuing to power one of the league's most explosive offenses.
Defensive Player of the Week
Elijah Reed, DB — San Diego Strike Force
Reed played a pivotal role in San Diego's season-opening victory, helping the Strike Force improve to 1-0. He recorded four tackles and two interceptions, making timely, momentum-shifting plays that helped seal the win and establish San Diego's defensive presence.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Jan Bogdan, K — Quad City Steamwheelers
Bogdan delivered in all phases of the kicking game, contributing 10 total points in Quad City's Week 2 win. He was perfect on his field goal attempt, went 5-of-6 on extra points, and added a deuce, playing a key role in the Steamwheelers' push early in the season.
