The Cedar Rapids River Kings have signed defensive back Tavion Garrison to its 2019 roster.
Garrison (5'11", 195, Central Arkansas) joins the River Kings squad as a rookie. He played three seasons on the purple and gray turf, helping lead his team to the FCS playoffs his junior and senior seasons, and a Southland Conference championship in 2017.
Garrison totaled 17 games over his three seasons at Central Arkansas. Over that time he racked up 49 total tackles (36 solo), including 17 and 24 his junior and senior year, respectively. During his senior season he broke up eight pass attempts adding to two others his junior year.
Prior to joining Central Arkansas, Garrison played his freshman year of football at Arkansas-Pine Bluff in 2013-14. While with the Golden Lions, Garrison had 20 tackles and one pass breakup.
Garrison is from Little Rock, Arkansas, and went to Little Parkview High School.
