River Kings Add Duo

The Cedar Rapids River Kings have signed offensive lineman Lenicio Noble and linebacker Malik Slater to their 2019 Indoor Football League roster.

Noble (6-3, 290, San Diego State University) will play his rookie year as a professional in Cedar Rapids.

He started the final 11 games of his junior season at San Diego State playing center. Nobel helped lead the Aztec offensive line while running back D.J. Pumphrey set the school's single-season rushing record: 1,867 yards on 276 attempts, averaging out to 6.8 yards per carry.

The Aztecs were bowl eligible that season, 2014, and would go on to an appearance in the Country Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl that season. Nobel continued to lead up front, allowing Pumphrey to rush for over a hundred yards for the tenth time that season.

Lenicio is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada where he played his high school ball at Cheyenne High School.

Slater (6-0, 232, Valdosta State University) comes to Cedar Rapids for his rookie season of professional football.

While at Valdosta Slater led the defense with 83 tackles his senior season, including getting 16 total tackles in two games. The linebacker was named to the All-GSC team prior to his senior season and went on to earn first-team All-GSC honors.

He was also selected to the All-Super Region Two defense by the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner's Association.

Slater will reunite with defensive back KJ Jenkins in Cedar Rapids. Slater and Jenkins played at Jacksonville University, helping lead the team to a combined 18-4 while Slater was with the team (2014-15). While a Dolphin, Slater was second on the team in tackles as a sophomore, recording 83 total. He was also in on 26 total tackles as a freshman.

Slater is from Tallahassee, Florida, and attended James S. Rickard High School.
