The Blizzard have re-signed defensive lineman Deldrick Canty and have signed former Concordia University WR Jared Garcia for the 2019 IFL season.
After joining the Blizzard late in the 2018 season, Canty (6'2,260) recorded six tackles and one fumble recovery. Canty played all four seasons at Louisiana Tech and recorded 27 tackles as a senior. Deldrick also forced 2 fumbles and had 2.5 sacks.
"Canty is a technician and is fundamentally sound. It's always great to bring a guy back who can play good football and improve our defensive line play" says head coach Corey Roberson.
Also joining the Blizzard is Concordia University (Nebraska) receiver Jared Garcia. Garcia set all time records at Concordia, leading the program in all-time receiving yards (2,495) and receiving touchdowns (35). His 161 career receptions also ranks second in school history.
At 6'3 and 205 pounds, Garcia does not shy away from the big moments. "I am not the tallest wide receiver, but I pride myself on playing big. I step up in big moments. I'm always there when I am needed most. I have for sure hands. I am willing to do whatever it takes to be successful" said Garcia in a pre-draft interview in February with the Gridiron Crew.
Jared was named an All-GPAC receiver each of his 4 season with Concordia and will look to build on his success heading into 2019 with the Blizzard.
