Week 9 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 9 of the 2018 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lorenzo Brown Jr. (QB, Sioux Falls Storm)

After faltering in Week 8, the Sioux Falls Storm rebounded with a 65-48 victory over the Cedar Rapids Titans in Week 9. QB Lorenzo Brown (6'0, Univ. of Sioux Falls) got the team's offense off to a hot start and did not let up as the Storm's 65 points were the teams's second-most this season. Explosive on the ground and through the air throughout the game, Brown broke through the Titans defense and scrambled for a 36 yard touchdown on the team's first play from scrimmage. He did not let up throughout the game as he rushed for two more touchdowns and threw for three more. Brown finished his night completing eight of ten passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns. In addition he added six rushes for 77 yards and three touchdowns. Brown and the Storm travel to face the Nebraska Danger in Week 10.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Nathan Lindsey (DB, Arizona Rattlers)

The Arizona Rattlers moved to a league best 6-1 record after taking down the Green Bay Blizzard 65-33 in Week 9. Facing a Blizzard team that looked unlike the team the Rattlers defeated in Week 4, the Arizona defense continued to clamp down on Green Bay's offense. DB Nathan Lindsey (6'0, Fort Hays State) helped secure a turning point in the game early in the third quarter. Lindsey forced and then recovered a fumble by Blizzard KR B.J Hill to help give the Rattlers back-to-back possessions. Arizona would then use the strong field position to score a touchdown two plays later, giving the team an insurmountable 45-20 lead. Lindsey finished his night with one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one tackle for loss and four tackles. The Arizona Rattlers face the Cedar Rapids Titans in Week 10.

The Green Bay Blizzard fell to the Arizona Rattlers 65-33 in Week 9, however KR B.J Hill continued to prove why he is the IFL's top kick returner of all-time. Hill accounted for 234 kick return yards, third most in IFL history against the Rattlers. More importantly, Hill (5'9, Ball State Univ.) broke two kick returns off for a touchdown. With his two kick return touchdowns against Arizona, Hill furthers his own IFL career record to 16 kick return touchdowns and is the first kick returner to return two kickoffs for touchdowns since 2015 .Hill finished his night with 11 kick returns (tied for most in IFL history) for 254 yards and two touchdowns. Hill now leads the IFL in kick return yards (669) and  all-purpose yards (696). The Green Bay Blizzard travel to face the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 10.'
