The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 8 of the 2018 IFL season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Darrell Monroe (RB,Arizona Rattlers)
The Arizona Rattlers weathered the Sioux Falls Storm 48-40 in Week 8 and now move to an IFL-best 5-1 record. After placing second in the IFL in rushing last season, Rattlers RB Darrell Monroe had a slow start to the 2018 season, until now. The punishing 6'2, 220 pound running back exploded for 126 yards and four rushing touchdowns against the Storm. In doing so, Monroe became the first player to rush for more than 100 yards in a game this season and his four rushing touchdowns are also the most in the IFL this season. Monroe also added three receptions for 39 yards and finished the game with 165 all-purpose yards. The Arizona Rattlers host the Green Bay Blizzard in Week 9.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rocky Hayes (DB,Iowa Barnstormers)
After faltering against the Nebraska Danger in Week 6, the Iowa Barnstormers took vengeance in Week 8 with a 41-25 victory over the Danger. The league's second ranked defense held the Danger to the team's lowest point total of the season. DB Rocky Hayes (6'0, Arkansas State) helped ensure the Barnstormers' defensive mastery with his game-sealing late interception of Danger QB Jesse Scroggins III. In addition, Hayes also recovered a fumble in the third quarter which would eventually lead to a Barnstormers touchdown. Hayes finished his night with six tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery. The Iowa Barnstormers enjoy a bye in Week 9 before returning to host the Green Bay Blizzard on April 28.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Lyle McCombs (KR, Sioux Falls Storm)
The Sioux Falls Storm fell to the Arizona Rattlers 48-40 in Week 8 however, RB/KR Lyle McCombs proved to be a dangerous weapon for the Storm all night long. McCombs (5'8, Univ. of Connecticut) was a multi-purpose weapon for the Storm as he not only led the Storm with 106 kick return yards but he also led the team in rushing with 69 yards. McCombs explosiveness showed through late in the first quarter as he burst through the Rattlers defense for a 45 yard touchdown run, the longest in the IFL this season. He also constantly gave the Storm offense strong field position throughout the night and his 38 yard longest kickoff helped the Storm later score a touchdown. McCombs finished his night with 197 all-purpose yards. The Storm host the Cedar Rapids Titans in Week 9.
