Storm Add Pair Of Linebackers

The Sioux Falls Storm have added two new faces to the defensive unit with the signings of linebackers Ace Clark and Robert Haynes for the 2018 season.

Clark (6'3, 240lbs) spent the 2017 season with the Colorado Crush of the Indoor Football League (IFL) where he garnered 84 total tackles (44 solo), four sacks, five tackles for loss and one interception.

While at Western Carolina University, Ace tallied 340 total tackles (169 solo), six tables for loss and two interceptions during his career. He was a unanimous First Team All-Southern Conference selection during his senior season, a All-Southern Conference Second Team selection during his junior year and a Southern Conference All-Freshman team member as a freshman.

Haynes (6'1, 245lbs) spent the 2017 season with the Cedar Rapids Titans and Wichita Falls Nighthawks of the IFL. During the 2017 season, Robert accumulated 94 total tackles (58 solo), five sacks, 12 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception.

He was a Second Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honoree during his senior year at Eastern Illinois University. During his career at EIU, Haynes compiled 268 total tackles (70 solo), 13.5 tackles for loss, two pass break-ups and two forced fumbles.

"Ace Clark and Robert Haynes bring two athletic LB's with experience from the indoor game," said Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. "Ace Clark is someone that stood out when we watched him on film. We knew that he is someone that we knew would be a great fit in our system. Robert Haynes is a player that gave us troubles when he was in Wichita Falls. He brings size and speed to a fast pace style of defense."
