Smith (6-2, 200, Murray State) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, Smith played at Arkansas State University for two years, appearing in 16 total games, before transferring to Murray State. In his first season with the Racers, Smith appeared in 9 games earning 3 starts and completing the season with 36 total tackles, one forced fumble, and two pass break-ups. In his senior season, Smith appeared in 12 games completing the season with 62 total tackles, three interceptions, three pass-breakups, and one fumble recovery.
"Darrell is a very solid DB that can cover a lot of area," said Coach Wooten. "He is huge against the run game and with his height and range it will be hard for teams to throw over the top of him."
