DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive back Jourdan Wickliffe to the 2018 roster, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced today.
Wickliffe (6-1, 205, Eastern Illinois University) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his second season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Wickliffe made his IFL debut last season with the Cedar Rapids Titans, appearing in 15 games and finishing the season with 70 total tackles, 3 interceptions, and 7 pass breakups. Collegiately, Wickliffe had a standout career with Eastern Illinois University. Wickliffe was recruited as a wide receiver, but moved to safety midway through his redshirt freshman year. Wickliffe went on to be a three-time First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection. He finished his career with 14 interceptions, ranking second on the EIU career list.
Following his collegiate career, Wickliffe was invited to participate in the 2016 Philadelphia Eagles Rookie Camp.
"Jourdan is a very talented defensive back," said Coach Wooten. "He's a versatile player who can play safety, corner, and he can cover. His understanding of the game and his will to push his teammates will make our team strong."
