The Green Bay Blizzard have signed former Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts Offensive Lineman Donovan Williams.
Williams (6' 3" 315) was originally signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in April of 2016. After spending all of the off-season and training camp with the Bears, Williams was released and claimed off of waivers by the Indianapolis Colts. After a short time with the Colts, Williams was again released.
In college, Williams began at Blinn Junior College and was named a first-team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference selection in 2013 before transferring to Louisiana-Lafayette to play the 2014 and 2015 seasons. During his time at Lafayette, he started all 25 games.
"Donovan Williams was rated as a top 40 prospect at his position coming out of college. When things don't work in the NFL on the first attempt, some guys stop trying. Donovan understands that he needs to continue to play, develop and get quality film," stated Blizzard Head Coach Chris Williams. "He is committed to helping the Blizzard reach our goals and he is also driven to reach some of his own goals. We want ambitious people in our program. Those kind of people work hard and success will come our way because of them. Donovan is one of those people."
