"This Week in the IFL" Conference Championships

A new episode of the IFL's podcast, "This Week in the IFL", is now available, featuring interviews with Sioux Falls Storm Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs, Iowa Barnstormers Head Coach Dixie Wooten, Arizona Rattlers DL Josh Gordon and Nebraska Danger Head Coach Hurtis Chinn.

The Sioux Falls Storm host the United Conference Championship for the eighth time under Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs this weekend as they take on the Iowa Barnstormers. The former IFL Coach of the Year has guided his team to a league best 14-2 record as they strive for their seventh consecutive United Bowl Championship. Under Riggs this season,the Storm have the top ranked defense in the IFL allowing the fewest points (29.2) and yards per game (191.4).

The Iowa Barnstormers make their first appearance in the United Conference playoffs against the Storm. A strong candidate for IFL Head Coach of the Year, Head Coach Dixie Wooten helped guide the Barnstormers to their best record (13-3) in team history. During their historic season, the Barnstormers won eleven consecutive games, also the most in team history and the longest streak in the IFL this season. Puska talks with both coaches and what their appearance in the United Conference Championship means to both teams.

The Arizona Rattlers host the Nebraska Danger in the Intense Conference Championship this Saturday. In their inaugural season in the IFL, the Rattlers finished with a 12-4 record and the top seed in the conference. Supported by the strong play of DL Joshua Gordon,the Rattlers allowed the third fewest points in the IFL this season. Gordon finished his season with 50 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks. Puska chats with Gordon about the Rattlers season and the rematch against the Danger. 

The Nebraska Danger advanced to their fifth consecutive Intense Conference Championship by defeating the Wichita Falls Nighthawks 59-44 in Week 18. Led by first-year Head Coach Hurtiss Chinn, the Danger finished 9-7 and travel to face the Arizona Rattlers on Saturday. After starting three quarterbacks on the season, Chinn has settled on explosive QB Drew Powell. Powell finished his season winning IFL Offensive Player of the Week during two of the last three weeks of the regular season. Bolstered by a strong running game, Chinn chats with Puska about the Danger's upcoming matchup.
