Week 15 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 15 of the 2017 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brady Roland (WR, Iowa Barnstormers)

The Iowa Barnstormers continue to win and continue to put themselves in a valuable position for the United Conference playoffs after blowing out the Green Bay Blizzard 64-12 in Week 15.  2016 First Team All-IFL WR Brady Roland continued to show why he is among the best in the IFL as he eluded the stout Blizzard secondary all night long. Against the top defense against the pass, Roland caught three touchdown passes and had 92 receiving yards on just five receptions. Roland proved to be an explosive threat as he had touchdown receptions of 35, 29 and 10 yards. After snagging three touchdown passes vs the Blizzard, Roland now has 18 touchdown receptions, second-most in the IFL. The Iowa Barnstormers will look to keep their nine game win streak alive as they take on the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles in Week 16.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: James Calhoun (DB, Salt Lake Screaming Eagles

The Salt Lake Screaming Eagles had one of the greatest defensive performances in IFL history as they returned four interceptions for touchdowns in the team's 64-27 victory over the Cedar Rapids Titans. Leading the way was DB James Calhoun. Calhoun was unstoppable in the defensive backfield as he grabbed three interceptions and returned them all for a touchdown. Calhoun had interception returns of 31, 46 and 49 yards and finished the night with 126 interception return yards, a new IFL record. Calhoun also added 2.5 tackles and four pass breakups to his record-breaking performance. The Screaming Eagles DB now leads the IFL in interceptions with .The Salt Lake Screaming Eagles host the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 16.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rockne Belmonte (K, Wichita Falls Nighthawks)

The Wichita Falls Nighthawks did what no team had done since 2010: beat Sioux Falls at home. The Nighthawks defeated the Sioux Falls Storm 36-21 and ended the Storm's 68 game home winning streak. In a low scoring affair, K Rockne Belmonte's contributions made a large difference throughout the game. Belmonte got the Nighthawks on the board first as he converted a 56 yard field goal on the Nighthawks opening drive. Belmonte would go on to convert two more field goals (29 yards, 20 yards,) and convert three of his four extra points. Belmonte finished the game with game with 12 total points for the Nighthawks, a third of the team's total. The former IFL Special Teams Player of the Year leads the IFL with 17 converted field goals on the  season. The Nighthawks look to continue their playoff push a they face the Green Bay Blizzard in Week 16.
