Storm vs Titans Game Preview

Sioux Falls, SD – After the Sioux Falls Storm won a tightly contested game against the Arizona Rattlers in their home opener; the Storm (1-0) will travel to Cedar Rapids to clash against the Titans (0-1) in week two of the IFL season.

The Storm are assertive after prevailing against the newcomers, the Rattlers 40-29 while the Titans are seeking for their first win of the 2017 season. The Titans faced the Green Bay Blizzard where they suffered a substantial 46-13 loss.

The Storm and Titans have a long lasting rivalry after battling each other 14 times in the last few seasons. Four of which were playoff games. The all-time record is set at 11-3 in favor of the Storm, but the three losses have been in Cedar Rapids.

Against the Blizzard the Titans scored just 13 points, their fewest in a regular season game since the team's inaugural season in 2012. Cedar Rapids will look to rebound in new Head Coach Marvin McNutt's second game.  The Titans come into the game tied for allowing the fewest rushing yards (40.0) in the IFL through the first week of the season. The Storm however lead the IFL in rushing yards with 159 in their first game.

It was a one sided affair for the Storm against the Rattlers as Sioux Falls rushed for 159 yards while only throwing for 59. RB Korey William led the way with 61 yards and a touchdown. Williams final touchdown capped the Storm's comeback victory over the Rattlers. DB Rashard Smith was named IFL Defensive Player of the Week after he snagged an Arizona interception and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown. Smith had nine tackles during the game.

The game is set to kickoff Saturday February 25th at 7:05pm. You can cheer the Storm by watching online at through YouTube, listening to Rich Roste on KWSN or by going to the live viewing party at Eastway Lounge.
