Iowa Trades for Former All-IFL WR

DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers have acquired veteran wide receiver Ryan Balentine in a trade with the Cedar Rapids Titans, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced today. The Barnstormers traded OL Chad Kolumber.

Balentine (6-1, 180, University of Southern Mississippi) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his fifth season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Balentine has previously played for the Green Bay Blizzard, the Bemidji Axemen, and most recently the Cedar Rapids Titans. In 2016, Balentine appeared in 16 games with the Titans where he collected 54 receptions for 710 yards and 15 touchdowns. Balentine was named to the Second Team All-IFL list following his rookie season with the Green Bay Blizzard.

Collegiately, Balentine played for three years at the University of Southern Mississippi. During his time with the Golden Eagles, Balentine collected 65 career receptions for 883 yards and 8 touchdowns.

"Signing Ryan is huge for our organization," said Coach Wooten. "He is a veteran receiver who will lead by example on and off the field. Ryan will make our receiver corps that much stronger."
