Barnstormers Sign Former Stanford QB

DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers have signed quarterback David Olson to the 2017 roster, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced.

Olson (6-3, 220, Clemson University) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Last season, Olson played for the Wichita Force of the Champions Indoor Football league (CIF). Olson starred in 7 games with the Force, collecting 10 rushing touchdowns and 17 passing touchdowns.

A Stanford University graduate, Olson appeared on the Cardinals roster as backup quarterback for four seasons while earning his degree in management science and engineering. During his senior season, Olson saw action in one game. In 2014, Olson transferred to Clemson University for his final season of eligibility.

"David is a very smart quarterback. He understands the game of football on a very high level," said Coach Wooten. "David brings indoor experience and a championship to the Barnstormers. The quarterback position in camp will be very competitive."
