Allen Travels to Everett and Wins 48-27

Richmond VA- The Allen Wranglers(2-0) took a 2,200 mile trip to the northwest Thursday night and came back with a 48-27 victory over the Everett Raptors(0-2).

The Wranglers defense took advantage of a Raptors offense decimated by the loss of QB Charles McCullum. McCullum, who was injured in the season opening loss to Tri-Cites, threw for the third most touchdowns in the IFL in 2011. In his absence QB Ryan Ratekin completed just 10 of 33 passes for 77 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.dsc_7044

The Wranglers' win continues to carry over momentum from their season opener which was displayed on ESPN 3; although QB Bryan Randall has yet to return to his 2010 IFL MVP level. Randall struggled again as he completed 7 of 11 passes for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns and one interception. Randall was pulled from the game with less than two minutes to go in the first half for ex-CFL  Quarterback  Casey Printers.

Randall had difficulty sparking the Wranglers offense early in the game as penalties and incomplete passes bogged down early scoring drives.

Printers was able to lead the Wranglers on a 28-13 run in the second half. After halftime the Wranglers managed to build a potent rushing attack as they scored three touchdowns on the ground. RB Darius Fudge led the way with 22 yards on 10 attempts and one touchdown.

Printers finished the game completing 5 of 9 passes for 54 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

Wranglers Defensive Back Frankie Solomon Jr followed up his Week One IFL Special Teams Player of the Week award with a dominating defensive performance. Solomon Jr. snagged two interceptions from Raptors QB Ratekin and also led the Wranglers in tackles.

This is the first time the Allen Wranglers have started the season 2-0 as part of the IFL.

For the Everett Raptors DL Michael Graise had another very strong game as he was second on the Raptors with 7.5 tackles, one sack and two tackles for loss.

The Everett Raptors and the Allen Wranglers will both play will play their next games on Sunday March 11. The Raptors will travel down to Wyoming while the Allen Wranglers will continue to stay on the road as they play the New Mexico Stars.
