Storm Defense Adds Some Thump

Sioux Falls, SD: The Sioux Falls storm is exciSioux Fallsted to announce the return of Tyler Knight and the new signing of Ross Cochran. Both are battling it out for a Linebacker position with the Storm for 2013.

Tyler Knight returns to the Sioux Falls Storm for a second season. The Mississippi Valley State Alumni joined the Storm in 2011. Knight played a critical role for the Storm in the 2011 season collecting a total of 104 Tackles, 62 of which were solo and 42 assisted.  He also had 1 interception for a touchdown, 1 forced fumble and 5 pass break ups.  In 2012 Knight joined the Kansas City Command of the AFL.  Here he totaled 20 tackles, 17 assisted and 1 sac.  

Ross Cochran also joins the Storm in hopes for a Linebacker position.  Cochran, a University of North Dakota graduate, will be an excellent addition to the Storm defense.  During his time at UND, Cochran recorded 50 tackles and 3.5 sacks for the Sioux in 2010. Cochran participated in a pro day at the Fargo Dome in 2011 where he worked out for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets.  Cochran was later invited to the Minnesota Vikings rookie mini-camp. Cochran played for the Wyoming Cavalry in 2012.

“Speed and aggression, two words that describe these two veteran LB's.  Camp will be extremely competitive,” stated Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs.
