Sioux Falls, SD: The Storm is
excited to announce the resigning of two key defensive players, Rob Carlisle & Patrick Wells.
Carlisle played a critical role for the Storm in the 2012 season collecting a total of 24 tackles, 16 of which were solo and 8 assisted. He also broke up two passes during the 2012 regular season. The 6’1”, 200lb defensive back is a graduate of Grand Valley State University where he was a three-time letter winner. Rob is currently living in Sioux Falls and assisting with the football program at Augustana College.
“Rob is a long athletic player that can play both sides of the ball,” said Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs. “He brings a winning tradition and a year of experience under his belt. We expect Rob to be competing for a starting job.”
Patrick Wells, 6’1”, 200lbs also proved to be a vital part of the Storm defense registering 22 total tackles, 18 solo and four assisted. Wells also compiled 1 interception and 2 pass breakups. In the 2012 post season, Wells collected 11 total tackles, 6 of which were solo and 5 assisted.
Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs quoted, “Patrick Wells is one of the best defensive backs in the league. We are really expecting a lot from Patrick this year, as a leader on and off the field for our defensive backfield!”
