Fort Collins, CO—The Colorado Ice Professional Indoor Football team will host the New Mexico Stars this Friday, May 18th, 2012. This game marks the third matchup between the Ice and the Stars in the 2012 season.
The Ice (6-4) are coming off a win against the Wyoming Cavalry. They proved their dominance over the Cavalry while running for 260 yards, breaking the IFL’s single game rushing record. This is the second record the Ice has set against the Cavalry this season. In their first matchup, the Ice broke the organization’s record for most points scored in a single home game.
The Ice offense, led by newcomer QB Jeremy Sanders managed 6 touchdowns against the Cavalry. Sanders rushed for four and passed for two touchdowns while teammate Aric Goodman went perfect on PATs and had a successful 21 yard field goal. RB Tobias Robinson added to the Ice’s score with two touchdowns.
The New Mexico Stars (2-7) have recently lost to the Everett Raptors, 65-74. The Stars rallied from a 48-24 shortfall at halftime; unfortunately they could not make up for lost time.
The two wins on the Stars record come from the Ice. The Ice has been unable to find their way against the Stars this season however the recent additions to the roster are sure to make a difference in their game.
