Fort Collins, CO—The Colorado Ice Professional Indoor Football team will face the Nebraska Danger (3-5) this Saturday, May 5th, 2012. The Ice (5-3) will defend their undefeated home portion of the season while the Danger attempt to pull in a win to add to their lackluster 3-5 record.
In the Ice’s previous game they shut down the Wyoming Cavalry for the third time this season, allowing them to remain undefeated at home and in their four game series against the Cavalry.
Against the Cavalry, QB David Knighton threw for three touchdowns and rushed for one. Alongside him were teammates RB Tobias Robinson who carried for two touchdowns and WR Jessie Poku who received a bomb from Knighton to add to the Ice’s lead. In the final throes of the game DB Kyle Theret made an impressive interception for touchdown to ensure a win for the Ice.
The Ice, currently rank second in the Intense Conference are averaging 50 points per gameThe Ice’s momentum is rising as playoffs near, which is sure to aid them in a victory over the Danger. This will be the first time the teams have faced off since the 2011 season when the Ice beat the Danger 47-39.
The Danger are coming off a win after losing four out of their last six games. The Danger’s offense surpassed the Everett Raptors but not by much. With a score of 68-59, the Raptors were well on their way to a win with the Danger barely clinging onto their lead. In the final moments of the game the Danger were able to manage two interceptions which lead them to a victory.
