The Colorado Ice exploded on the opening kickoff, with the run back for a touchdown by Tobias Robinson. The Ice had two touchdowns in the second quarter from  QB David Knighton  to WR Jessie Poku  and the second to Robinson.

The Ice defense in the first half was making things happen with Darius Hart having a sack in the first and second quarters along with an interception by Idly Etienne and a fumble recovery for Prince Hall. The defensive line was making trouble for Stars Quarterback Hall with constant pressure from newly signed Auburn University stand out Antoine Carter, Chris Bradwell  and Hart.

In a reversal of fates the Stars defense was hit with multiple penalties in the first half including an ejection of defensive back De’Andre Wright  for ripping off Robinson’s  helmet after a first down run in the second quarter.

The third quarter started slow for the Ice with the Stars starting with a field goal and then the Stars Eric Henri  running back a fumble by Knighton. The Ice were able to get something going when Knighton hit Henderson for a pass to the Stars eight yard line followed by a touchdown pass to Poku .

Ice nose guard Bradwell  ended the third quarter with a sack of the Stars Hall. At 11:03 in the fourth Andre Harris  runs in a one yard touchdown to tie te game 34 – 34. The Stars make a touchdown to take the lead at 41 – 34 followed by the Ice scoring with 29.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter with a pass from Knighton to Poku  making it 41 - 41.

The Ice and Stars will meet again on Majestic Field at the Budweiser Events Center on Friday, May 18th. The Ice go to a bye week and then are back home to face off against the Wyoming Cavalry for their third meeting of the four game series on Saturday, April 28th.
