Rio Rancho, NM.– The Colorado Ice fall to the New Mexico Stars, in a highly contested game at the Santa Ana Star Center with a score of 46 – 39.
In the first half the Ice put up 15 points starting with a safety after a botched field goal kick by New Mexico. Rookie Running Back Andre Harris had a touchdown and rookie Kicker Aric Goodman had a good first half with the PAT and two field goals.
After coming out in the second half with a touchdown from Qaurterback David Knighton to WR Mark Henderson. The Ice started the fourth quarter with a quick touchdown to WR Ken Witter. Kicker Aric Goodman made another field goal in the fourth. With one minute left in the game the Ice scored a touchdown from Knighton to WR Reynard Reynolds, his first career score with the Ice.
The Ice attempted an onside kick twice and were denied. New Mexico ended the game kneeling on the 5 yard line. The Runza player of the game is rookie kicker Aric Goodman going perfect for the night on PATs and Field Goals.
The Colorado Ice have their Home Opener on Sunday, March 4th on Majestic Roofing Field at the Budweiser Events Center. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Cowbell courtesy of Nice Car Inc.
