Richmond, VA- The Sioux Falls Storm (12-0) keep their iron lock on the top spot in the IFL Coaches’ Poll for a 13th consecutive week.
The Storm clinched the best record in the IFL as they defeated the Wyoming Cavalry, 71-46, in Week 15. It was the sixth time this season Sioux Falls has scored 70 or more points in a game. The Storm will face one of the top teams in the IFL this week as they play the fourth-ranked Colorado Ice (8-5).
After a harrowing overtime loss to Sioux Falls two weeks ago the Tri-Cities Fever (11-2) got taken to the brink again this time by the Colorado Ice. The Fever won, again in overtime, and hang on their second-ranked spot this week. The Fever will play Wyoming this week. The Green Bay Blizzard (9-3) maintains the third position this week after defeating the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks,51-33, last week. This week Green Bay faces the Reading Express and can clinch the number two seed in the United Conference with a win.
The Colorado Ice leapfrogs the Bloomington Edge this week to round out the top five. Colorado (8-5), took Tri-Cities to overtime last week, however this week the Ice will face their most challenging opponent of the season in Sioux Falls. The Edge (9-4) drop a spot this week after losing to the incredibly hot Wichita Wild by one point, 39-38. The Edge will look to seek redemption from that loss as they take on the Cedar Rapids Titans in Week 16.
Coming in a sixth, seventh and eighth is the Wichita Wild, the Allen Wranglers and the Omaha Beef, respectively. Both the Wild and the Wranglers clinched a spot in the Intense Conference playoffs over the past weekend. The Wild, after knocking off the Bloomington Edge, jump the Wranglers this week. The Wild have won their last five games and seven of their last eight. The Wranglers eliminated the Nebraska Danger, 71-62, from playoff contention over the weekend as well. Omaha keeps their eighth spot this week and have won their last three games.
The Chicago Slaughter (6-7) maintain their hold on the ninth spot this week after defeating the Reading Express (2-11) 46-40. Chicago is facing a must-win game at Lehigh Valley this weekend to have a chance to make the playoffs. Re-entering the top ten are the Everett Raptors (5-8). The Raptors are tied with Nebraska Danger (4-8) for the final spot in the Coaches’ Poll.
