Roughnecks Unveil New Logo

The West Texas Roughnecks announced while during a press conference which took place Thursday afternoon, July 15, that the organization has officially changed the team logo in conjunction with developing a new era in the history of the Roughnecks organization.  The new team logo was presented on Thursday afternoon exemplifying a similar look of the new 2010 West Texas Roughnecks helmet logo. The new team logo is featured without the traditional prairie dog which has been part of the Roughnecks team logo since the organization’s inaugural season in 2004.

“We are excited about this change and we are hopeful that the unveiling of the new logo will be a transition into a new and successful era for the West Texas Roughnecks. We believe this change in the logo will not only showcase many great things to come in 2011, but for many years ahead within the Permian Basin.” stated West Texas Roughnecks Team Owner Dale Morris.

This is the second overall change of the team logo in Roughnecks history with the first dating back on January 12, 2010 when the organization officially changed the team name to the West Texas Roughnecks.

In addition to the change in the Roughnecks team logo, the West Texas Roughnecks also announced the new slogan for the 2011 season, “One Team, One Mission."  The new slogan for the 2011 season coincides with the Roughnecks success during the second-half of the 2010 season and the team’s mission to have a successful year in 2011.

“I believe our new slogan for 2011 is a strong statement in regards to wanting to finish what we started in 2010.  Our ball club put together an outstanding second-half of the regular season and clinched a playoff berth in 2010.  We certainly want to see that success carry over into 2011.” stated West Texas Roughnecks Team Owner Dale Morris.
