Vidswap.com Conference Finals Players of the Week

The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Playoff Conference Finals Vidswap.com Players of the Week. The Conference Championship games were played and several key performances helped teams realize their dream of going to the United Bowl, or at least giving their team a fighting chance. Each week the IFL selects three players, one from each phase of the game, offense, defense, and specials teams, whose play on the field stood out among the rest of the competition.  The United and Intense Conference Championship games are proving grounds for who the top teams in each conference are. Not only did teams prove why they deserved to contend for the United Bowl, but these talented individuals showcased why they deserved the coveted status of IFL Conference Playoff Semi-Finals Vidswap.com Players of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week: QB Chris Dixon, Billings Outlaws

In his career thus far in the IFL, there have been many times where QB Chris Dixon has needed to lead his team through a tough challenge. The Conference Finals were no different for one of the league’s premier quarterbacks. Dixon went 19 for 25 on his passing attempts, good for 191 yards and eight touchdowns. That offensive flurry helped propel the Outlaws past the Arkansas Diamonds in a close 53-42 game that sends Billings back to the United Bowl. If the Outlaws wish to repeat as United Bowl champions, Dixon will once again have to lead this offense to the promise land.  Standing in their way will be a very capable Sioux Falls Storm.

Defensive Player of the Week: DB Jovan Jackson, Billings Outlaws

In many of the Billings Outlaws’ victories, offense usually takes precedence over their defensive talents. DB Jovan Jackson proved just how potent the Outlaws defense can be. Jackson left many on Arkansas in fits. The defensive back had 2.5 tackles, two interceptions, and broke up two passes. His performance made it very hard for the Diamonds to stay competitive in the 53-42 eventual Billings win.  If Jackson can repeat his dominance in the United Bowl, it will be very difficult for the Sioux Falls Storm to move the ball against the Outlaws.

Special Teams Player of the Week: KR Randy Kelly, Wichita Wild

While the Wichita Wild may not be going to the United Bowl, they certainly proved for the second year in a row that they are more than capable contenders. Despite losing to Sioux Falls by a 52-34 final, KR Randy Kelly did all he could to make sure the Wild had good field possession in the game and set them up for scores. The First Team All-IFL Special Teams member showed Sioux Falls why he has been on a roll all season. On just nine returns, Kelly was able to pick up 181 yards. Despite the tough loss, it can be assured the Wild will be gunning to claw their way to the United Bowl next season.

The IFL post season continues on Saturday July 17th as the IFL presents the United Bowl. The championship game will feature the Billings Outlaws, last year’s champions, defending their title against the Sioux Falls Storm.
