Storm to Host United Conference Championship

The Sioux Falls Storm (13-3) is back for the fourth weekend in a row at the Storm Shelter this Saturday night. The Storm will host the Wichita Wild (11-5) for the second time this season, with the game kicking off at 7:05 PM. The United Conference Championship will feature the first playoff meeting between the two teams, and is sponsored by Combine Pool and Spa.

The Storm comes into the game rolling after a 47-33 victory over the Chicago Slaughter. In their first visit to the Storm Shelter, the Slaughter was welcomed by the Thunder Defense. The Thunder Defense was able to hold Jarrett Peyton (son of NFL hall of famer Walter Peyton) to 15 yards rushing, along with picking off Quarterback Tavares Woodley twice. The Lightning Strike Offense had a massive day rushing the ball. The offense was able to rush for 116 yards, with James Jones leading the way with 59 yards on the ground. The rushing attack took a lot of pressure off of Quarterback Terrance Bryant, who threw for 105 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Wild come into the Storm Shelter off a 45-33 victory over the Rochester Raiders. The Storm would be in position to host the United Bowl with a victory over Wichita and a Billings loss to Arkansas.

“This looks to be an instant classic,” said Storm owner, Todd Tryon. “These are two very well coached teams.”
