STAMPEDE EXPRESS Look To Extend Winning Streak

By: Team Press Release

San Angelo, TX-  The San Angelo Stampede Express (2-0) face the Abilene Ruff Riders (2-1) this Saturday, April 25th at the Taylor County Coliseum in Abilene, TX.  This will be the first of two meetings of the two Lone Star Division Rivals.

The Stampede Express are coming off back to back 1 point victories over the Colorado Ice and Odessa Roughnecks to start the season and have won 6 straight contests dating back to last season.

The Stampede Express who are atop the Lonestar Division will look to sure up their run defense while continuing to be very stingy in the pass game.  Jonathan Hamm and Clay Harrell will be the focal points this week in Abilene.  Hamm and Harrell have showed tremendous ability to get into the back field.  As long as we get a good push up front and stay in our running lanes we should be able to slow down the run while at the same time still have an effective pass rush, Coach Ray stated.

Offensively San Angelo will be without starting QB Trevor Scherer who hurt his ring finger on his throwing hand during the first play of the game against Odessa.  QB Damian Carter will get the start for us this week in Abilene, he showed tremendous poise and made some great throws while coming in when Scherer got hurt, stated Coach Cumbie.

This will be the first of seven road games for the Stampede Express this season.  You can watch every away game live and on the big screen at Buffalo Wild Wings 4251 Sherwood Way or by clicking on the B2live link on the San Angelo Stampede Express Website.  The San Angelo Stampede Express will return to the San Angelo Coliseum May 02 as they host the El Paso Generals.
